Clearing, Mulching & Dirt Work in Hubbard
Right against the Pennsylvania line, Hubbard sits in the southeast corner of Trumbull County. The township touches Hermitage on one corner and Shenango Township, in Mercer County, along its east side. Plenty of people here own ground in one state and live in the other. Logan Earthworks works both sides. We clear land, mulch brush, dig, grade and build gravel drives, and this corner of the county is close to home for us.
Coal and iron built the town in the 1800s. Today the land around Hubbard is a mix of neighborhoods, wooded township acreage, and commercial ground where State Route 7 meets Interstate 80. Jeff is the owner, and he is who you talk to. We bring a tracked forestry mulcher for brush and small trees, CAT excavators for stumps and digging, and a dozer and compact track loader for grading. Our Trumbull County page covers Brookfield, Liberty and the rest.
Working on the state line
The rules change at the line, even when the dirt does not. In Ohio, the law requires notice to OHIO811 at least 2 working days before digging. In Pennsylvania, PA One Call asks for notice three to ten business days ahead. A driveway onto a Pennsylvania state highway goes through PennDOT, and one onto an Ohio state route goes through ODOT. If your project is on the east side of the line, our Mercer County, PA page has more. We sort out which set of rules applies before we schedule.
Mud Run and Little Yankee Run
Two small streams, Mud Run and Little Yankee Run, flow through the Hubbard city limits. Lots along a stream often have a low, wet back end where brush grows thick and mowers do not go. We can open that ground up with the mulcher when it is dry or frozen enough to carry the machine. We keep dirt and brush out of the stream. Work in or right beside a channel can need approval, so ask Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District first. For water that stands in the yard itself, see drainage solutions.
Township acreage and the interstate corridor
Outside the city, Hubbard Township has wooded parcels, old fields and hunting ground. A mulcher cuts trails, shooting lanes and access to a food plot without leaving piles. Near the Route 7 and Interstate 80 interchange the need is different: commercial parcels cleared and rough graded so they can be surveyed, shown or built on. Ohio EPA requires a stormwater permit when a project disturbs one acre or more, so bring your engineer in early. See hunting land, trails and shooting lanes.

DetailsEverything else we do in Hubbard
Do you work on both the Ohio and Pennsylvania side near Hubbard?
Yes. Logan Earthworks works across northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, and the Hubbard, Masury, Hermitage and Sharon area is close to home. The work is the same on either side: land clearing, forestry mulching, excavation, grading, drainage and gravel driveways. The utility locate call and the permit offices are different in each state, and we account for that when we plan the job.
Who do I call before digging in Hubbard, Ohio?
OHIO811. Ohio law requires anyone digging, even by hand, to notify them first, at least 2 working days ahead and not counting the day you call. The service is free. Member utilities mark what they own. Private lines, like a line to a garage or a yard light, may not be marked, so tell us about anything you know is buried.
How much does it cost to clear land near Hubbard, OH?
No two parcels are alike. What moves the number is the size and thickness of the growth, how many large trees and stumps there are, how wet and steep the ground is, how a machine gets in, and how finished you want it. Jeff looks at the site and gives a free estimate, with the reasons behind it.
