Land Clearing, Mulching & Excavation in Stark County

Stark County is inside our service area, and the Alliance side of it is the closest. Logan Earthworks is based in Farmdale, in Trumbull County, and we work down through Alliance, Louisville and Canton and on west to Massillon. The county is a mix. Canton and Massillon are older industrial cities with tight lots. Around them are townships like Marlboro, Lexington, Washington, Nimishillen and Paris where the land is still farmed.

On farm and acreage jobs we bring a forestry mulcher. It cuts and grinds brush and small trees in one pass and leaves the mulch where it falls. On build sites we bring excavators and a dozer to take out trees and stumps and rough in the pad. You talk to Jeff, and he looks at the site before he gives you a price. We have town pages for Canton, Alliance and Massillon, and one on forestry mulching in Canton.

Three ways the water runs

The Tuscarawas River rises southwest of Hartville, loops through Summit County and comes back down past Canal Fulton, Massillon and Navarre. Nimishillen Creek drains Canton. The Mahoning River crosses the northeast corner near Alliance. Which of those your land drains to decides where the low, wet ground is and where runoff goes when a lot is opened up. We look at that before we clear. A strip of brush left along a ditch or creek, or a mulch mat left on a slope, saves you from an erosion problem later.

Farm townships on the Alliance side

The northeast part of Stark County is the part nearest to us. Around Alliance, Marlboro and Lexington townships the jobs are fence rows, field corners, old pasture and woodlot edges. A fence row that has not been cut in a decade is a mix of wild cherry, hawthorn, briars and grapevine wrapped through the wire. We mulch it back to the line. Tell us about old wire or posts in there before we start. We also clear and prep sites for pole barns and farm buildings and cut in gravel farm lanes.

Canton and Massillon lots

City and suburban lots in Canton, North Canton, Massillon and Jackson Township are tighter. We check for overhead lines, where a trailer can park and what is hiding in the weeds. For bigger projects, the Stark Soil & Water Conservation District is the county office to ask about storm water and drainage, and Ohio EPA's construction stormwater permit covers sites that disturb an acre or more. Ask those offices what your project needs. We will work to the plan and keep the cleared ground covered or graded so it does not wash.

Questions

Stark County Questions

More answers on our FAQ page and in the guides.

Do you clear land in Stark County, Ohio?

Yes. We work in Stark County, with Alliance and Louisville closest to us and Canton and Massillon a little farther on. We clear lots and acreage, mulch brush and small trees, and dig out stumps for building sites. Call (330) 625-5754 with the location and a description and Jeff will set up a free estimate.

What is a fair price per acre for land clearing in Stark County?

A fair price is one built from your actual site, not an average off the internet. The same acre can take a few hours or a few days depending on tree size, how thick the brush is, whether stumps come out, and how wet or steep the ground is. Get the land looked at in person. Our estimates are free.

Can you clear an overgrown fence row on a Stark County farm?

Yes. Fence row clearing is one of the jobs a forestry mulcher does well. We cut the brush, vines and small trees back to the line you want and leave the mulch on the ground. Tell us if there is old wire or posts in there and whether you want any trees left for shade.

Do you handle commercial lot clearing around Canton and Massillon in Stark County?

Yes. We clear commercial and industrial parcels, including overgrown lots, property lines and right-of-way strips, for owners, contractors and developers. Some sites get opened for survey and soil testing first, with full clearing and rough grading later. Tell us your schedule and who else is working on the site, and that gets settled in the estimate.
